About Us

How it started
Fantasy F**kwit was conceived at around 2am one Sunday morning in August 2009, shortly after Keith Rodgers had watched West Ham's Carlton Cole deliver a stunning long-range back pass that landed at the feet of Tottenham's Jermain Defoe, who promptly scored. Keith's view was that the world needs a way to celebrate this kind of f**kwittery - which is where Fantasy F**kwit was born.

The fact that it took us a year to build the site demonstrates that while the idea was pretty simple, putting together all the behind-the-scenes plumbing and the machines that go 'ping' was a bit more of a headache. In hindsight, our goal of going live at the close of the January 2010 transfer window may have been a little optimistic. But credit goes to Gary Wiggins, who designed the overall look of the site; our two technical whizzes, Steve Harper and Ben Frank, who did the phenomenal job of building it, assisted by Mat Harden and Aarron Painter; and Mat Snow, who continues to provide editorial input and a load of ideas. We also got much-needed help from our early site testers (especially Chris and Andy), several of whom have also rashly agreed to join the 'Expert Panel'.

Where we go next
We're on the lookout for people who'd like to join our 'Expert Panel' and help us score occasional Premiership games. We're also interested in writers who might want to share their views on a guest blog. And we're thinking that maybe we should do a Championship version next...?
